Strategically located in Sertãozinho, in the region of Ribeirão Preto, 350 km from São Paulo, CRV Lagoa facilities are in an area of 40 hectares, surrounded by sugar cane plantations, apart from other bovine herds, which assures the reproducers natural sanitary protection.
Sanitary protection, as a matter of fact, is observed in the least details by CRV Lagoa: the surrounding area is protected with high screened wire fences to prevent wild and domestic animals from entering the premises.
Even people entering the area undergo a severe control, having to wear especial clothes and to go through previous disinfection in sanitary units.
CRV Lagoa keeps an average of 130 reproducers in permanent semen collection. These are animals of various breeds for beef, milk and both milk and beef, representing the best in genetic value in Brazil.
Many of these reproducers are in Progeny Test Programs, due to covenants with the Ministry of Agriculture and cattle raisers associations which enables the company to genetically prove the best bulls. CRV Lagoa also counts on its proper program of genetic improvement, the PAINT. Besides, the enterprise makes available to cattle raisers semen imported from The Netherlands, United States and other countries.
In its semen bank, for commercialization, CRV Lagoa possesses semen of more than 400 reproducers, from about 40 different breeds and its varieties.
